Questions families ask
How does my swimmer join a clinic?
Every swimmer starts with a level check at one of our two pools. A coach watches the swimmer swim, suggests a level and tells you which clinics fit. Then you register for a clinic on our enrollment page.
What is a level?
A level is a step in what swimmers work on, from Building a stroke to Practice sets. Each has a cap color, a short list of skills and a way up. The coach decides when a swimmer moves on, and every swimmer moves at their own pace.
Which clinic should my swimmer take?
Freestyle and backstroke are open from Level 1. Breaststroke needs Level 2, and butterfly and starts and turns need Level 3. The coach at the level check suggests a clinic and, if you want a second one, which should come next.
How long is a clinic?
A clinic runs six weeks. The stroke clinics meet two evenings a week for an hour, and the starts and turns clinic meets on Saturday mornings for an hour and a half.
What should my swimmer bring and wear?
A swimsuit or a swim shirt, a cap, goggles, a towel and a water bottle. Kickboards, fins and pull buoys are ours.
Where do parents watch?
Both pools have bleachers. A parent or guardian stays on site during every clinic, and we ask that phones stay away from the water's edge.
What if we miss a clinic?
Tell us by text or a call. A missed clinic can be made up in the same session, space allowing. When a pool closes for weather or repairs, the clinic is made up too.
Does my swimmer need to be on a team?
No. Our clinics suit swimmers who are thinking about a club team and swimmers who want to swim a stroke well. We don't run a team and can't promise a place on one.
Do your coaches speak Mandarin?
Junjie Hsu coaches in Mandarin and can talk with families in Mandarin at the level check. Tell us when you book, and we will schedule your swimmer with him.
How does tuition work?
Tuition depends on the clinic, the level and how many clinics a swimmer takes in a session. Our figures are on the enrollment page, and we are glad to talk them through by phone.
